A public library in Michigan wanted to create a unique, immersive experience for its younger patrons. We created a trio of faux trees that form a Treehouse and play area for the children’s books section.
The Fabricated Trees were designed to be wider and shorter than real trees so they would fit in the allotted space. There’s a rope-gated path around the center tree and lots of whimsical decor accents. Little details, like the red parrot high in the tree or the handmade “Watch for Fireflies” sign, bring this dream space to life.
This space is so distinctive that it earned an odd – but impressive – place on a list of the Strangest Public Libraries in the world! Some might be offended by inclusion on such a list, but we think it’s a compliment.
As the library’s director says:

Our incredible Reader’s Treehouse in the children’s section helped earn their spot as one of the strangest in the world.
