The Peppermill Resort Hotel Reno has long been one of Nevada’s leading environmental pioneers. It embarked on a nearly half-billion-dollar renovation that included removing and replacing water-consuming live trees and plants with commercial-grade, strikingly beautiful, artificial horticultural products.
With a primary focus on enhancing the high-quality aesthetics of the resort’s Tuscan-themed façade, our team was called upon to custom manufacture dozens of artificial Italian Cypress trees that towered 20 to 30 feet in height. We also created hundreds of hanging and ground-based flower baskets and planters, as well as numerous topiaries for the two large pool and spa areas.
Peppermill estimates that converting from live plant materials to artificial products conserves approximately 5.2 million gallons of water per season! They also proudly tout the reduction of the hotel’s environmental footprint by eliminating the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides for the faux plants.
